Frequently asked questions
How much will I actually pay as an international student?
Amrita does not publish a USD fee table; your Provisional Offer Letter sets the figure. As a benchmark, the domestic B.Tech CSE fee at Coimbatore is INR 6,00,000 per year and MBA about INR 5,55,000, with hostel and mess adding roughly INR 1.15-1.30 lakh. Scholarships of 50% or 100% on tuition are common for students with 70% or 80%+ marks.
Is hostel accommodation compulsory and what are the rules?
Yes, all international UG and PG students must live on campus. Hostels are single-gender, meals are strictly vegetarian, a modest dress code is enforced, additional appliances are not allowed in rooms, and students give the international office two days' notice before leaving campus.
Which campus will I study at?
Engineering, business, agriculture, social work and communication are at Coimbatore; medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing and Ayurveda are at Kochi (and some health sciences at Faridabad); Amritapuri in Kerala hosts another large engineering and arts campus. Your offer letter names the campus.
Do I need the AEEE exam?
Indian-system applicants to B.Tech take AEEE or use JEE Main. Foreign nationals are usually admitted on Grade 12 marks (60% in PCM) plus an online departmental interview, though medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and nursing always require an entrance exam.
How do I reach Ettimadai?
Fly to Coimbatore International Airport (CJB), about 35 km away with direct flights from Singapore and Sharjah plus all Indian metros; the campus has its own Ettimadai railway halt on the Coimbatore-Palakkad line, and ACIP can arrange airport pickup.
