Frequently asked questions
What is the most common visa photo size?
35 × 45 mm (32 of the 75 countries here). Several countries differ, for example the US (2 × 2 inch), Japan (45 × 45 mm) and China (33 × 48 mm).
Can I use my Indian passport photo for a visa?
Only if the country asks for 35 × 45 mm and its background, recency and glasses rules match. Check the country page: some want white backgrounds, some grey, and some want photos under 3 months old.
Do I need a printed photo or a digital upload?
It depends on the route. E-visas usually need a digital upload with pixel and file-size limits; embassy and visa-centre applications usually need printed photos. Some, like the UK, take your photo at the biometrics appointment.
How often are these rules checked?
Each country page shows its official source and the date the Krosz visa desk checked it. This set was checked on 17 Oct 2026.
