Bali Visa for Indians Living in the UAE: e-VOA, Levy and One Arrival Card (2026)

Indians living in the UAE need a visa for Bali, but it is a quick e-VOA: IDR 500,000 for 30 days. Add the IDR 150,000 Bali levy and the All Indonesia arrival card and you are set.

You've booked a villa in Ubud for Diwali week, the flight from Dubai is booked, and your colleague says Indians just get a visa at Bali airport. Partly true. There are three separate things to sort before you land, and only one of them is the visa.

Indians living in the UAE need a visa for Bali: the e-VOA (B1), IDR 500,000, 30 days, extendable once. Separately, pay the IDR 150,000 Bali tourist levy and fill in the free All Indonesia arrival card. Your UAE residence visa does not change any of this.

Does living in the UAE help with a Bali visa?

No. Indonesia sets entry rules by nationality. On the official portal, evisa.imigrasi.go.id, an Indian passport holder sees the same options whether they live in Mumbai or Dubai Marina. India is not on Indonesia's visa-free list, so you need a visa, but India is a visa-on-arrival country, which makes it easy.

Your UAE residence visa is still useful for one thing: proving you will go home. A return ticket to Dubai or Abu Dhabi and a valid residence visa make the onward-travel question simple.

How does the e-VOA work for Indians?

The B1 visa on arrival is for tourism, visiting family, business meetings and medical visits. You can buy it online as an e-VOA before you fly, or at the VOA counter on arrival. Doing it online from the UAE means you skip the payment queue at Ngurah Rai airport. The official portal lists these conditions:

  • Stay up to 30 days, extendable for another 30 days inside Indonesia.
  • Passport valid for at least six months.
  • An outbound ticket from Indonesia.
  • Sufficient funds for your stay.
  • No selling goods or services and no paid work.

Fee watch: in August 2026 Indonesia's Immigration Directorate proposed raising the fee to IDR 750,000 for the e-VOA and IDR 1,000,000 on arrival. No start date has been published, and the official portal still showed IDR 500,000 when we checked. Look at the price on the portal on the day you apply.

Planning a longer stay? The C1 single-entry tourist visa (60 days) is also on the portal for Indian passport holders, applied for before travel. Not sure which format suits you? Read e-visa vs sticker visa.

What are the Bali levy and the All Indonesia card?

The Bali tourist levy is a provincial charge, not a visa. Every foreign tourist entering Bali pays IDR 150,000 under Bali Provincial Regulation No. 2 of 2025. Pay it on the official Love Bali site, lovebali.baliprov.go.id, and keep the QR voucher emailed to you.

All Indonesia is the government's single arrival declaration. It combines the arrival card, the customs declaration and the health and quarantine questions in one online form, and gives you a QR code to show on arrival. If you are a VOA traveller, the portal asks you to complete the arrival card first, then apply for your VOA. Fill it in shortly before you fly and only on official .go.id sites.

Mistakes that cause trouble at Bali airport

  1. Paying a lookalike visa site. The only e-visa site is evisa.imigrasi.go.id.
  2. Confusing the levy with the visa. You need both.
  3. Flying in without an onward ticket out of Indonesia.
  4. A passport with less than six months of validity.
  5. Overstaying past 30 days without extending. Fines and deportation are possible.
  6. Doing paid work, even remote freelance gigs for Indonesian clients, on a tourist VOA.

Will a Bali trip affect your UAE residence visa?

Not if your UAE residence visa is valid when you return. Check the expiry date on your Emirates ID before booking. The UAE's six-month rule only matters for long absences: most residence visas can be cancelled after more than six months outside the country, and you would then need a return permit through ICP or GDRFA Dubai. Golden Visa holders have more flexibility.
